Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
The Partnership for Children of Wayne County is proud to partner with Smart Start and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to inspire a lifelong love of reading among young children in Wayne County.
Thanks to funding provided by the North Carolina General Assembly, Smart Start has expanded Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library across the state, making it possible for eligible children to receive
one free, age-appropriate, high-quality book every month from birth until their fifth birthday.
Reading together every day helps build language skills, supports healthy brain development, and prepares children for success in kindergarten and beyond. By placing books directly into the hands of families, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library encourages meaningful parent-child interactions and helps create a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Program Highlights

- There are no income requirements to participate.
