The Consumer Product Safety Commission provides a list of recent recalls on various products used by the public. These recalls often include items that could be hazardous to your child or children. As a public service, the Partnership for Children of Wayne County has provided a list to the most recent recalls made by the CPSC. - MTIG Productions Recalls deSensua Wintergreen, Birch and Pain Soother Essential Oils Due to Failure to Meet Child Resistant Packaging Requirement; Risk of Poisoning (Recall Alert) February 25, 2021The products contain the substance methyl salicylate which must be in child resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The packaging of the products is not child resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

- SmartPool Recalls Children’s Multi-Purpose Helmets Due to Risk of Head Injury February 24, 2021The recalled helmets were incorrectly advertised and marketed for children aged 2 years or older. However, the recalled helmets do not comply with minimum safety requirements for children younger than 5 and pose a risk of head injury to those children.

- Jimco Lamps Recalls Accent Tables with Charging Receptacles Due to Shock Hazard February 17, 2021The convenience charging receptacles and/or USB ports installed in the accent tables can have an electrical issue resulting in reverse polarity, which can pose a shock hazard to the user.
- Anker Play Products Recalls 10-in-1 Incredible Inventions Science Kit Due to Violation of the Federal Lead Paint Ban February 17, 2021Paint on the red and blue magnet contains levels of lead that exceed the federal lead paint ban. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues. In addition, the product packaging lacks the required warning labels for magnets and balloons.
